Description
Everyone is aware that IT is assimilating nearly all types of content, including Audio/Video and power. In some aspects though, what is good for IT is not necessarily good for A/V and Power. An example is the reduction in copper with Category Cable patch cords. IT is moving smaller and smaller, now with 28 AWG conductors for smaller diameters and higher density in patchbays and racks. The standard Shielded Cat6A patch cable from nearly all manufacturers is 26 AWG. However this has caused and is causing failures in A/V and PoE/HDBaseT links due to high attenuation of voltage and therefore power. Liberty's newest patch cable line is meant to address those issues with some features to support HDBaseT/Power/Audio and Video over IP. Using true 24 AWG conductors for all lines for lesser attenuation and better power delivery, Liberty's new Cat5E, Cat6, and Cat6A patch cables are meant to fix the issue before it happens. Some other features are Molded Boots versus the slide over for better strength and durability and the snagless design on the latch.
