Description
The Shure SCM810 8-Channel Automatic Mixer with Adjustable EQ per channel is a microphone mixer that was designed IntelliMix technology. IntelliMix works by only activating those microphones being addressed, thus minimizing poor audio quality caused by multiple open microphones. This 8-Channel mixer is capable of being linked for installations as large as 400 input channels providing a wide range of end user flexibility. Equally the SCM810 dramatically improves audio quality in any application where multiple microphones are required. Any low-impedance dynamic or condenser microphone (including wireless) can be used with the SCM810. Being designed to provide super sound quality in sound reinforcement scenarios this auto mixer features 8 Mic/Line level inputs via removable Block Connectors. All inputs are balanced and provide phantom power for condenser microphones. There are 8 direct outputs (1 per input channel) for direct routing of incoming signal to recorders monitors etc. Low-cut filter and High-shelving EQ switches are provided on all input channels.
The SCM810 uses a built-in Noise Adaptive threshold that can distinguish between constant background noise and audio signal fluctuating in pitch, level, and consistency (speech). The threshold will continuously adjust so that the speech levels are louder than that of the background noise that is active on that channel. A Max Bus feature allows the unit to be set so that one talked activates one channel, even while multiple microphones may be "hearing" that talker, and will control the number of channels that are active when triggered by a signal. What this works out to be is constant switching between talkers on a panel or discussion. Last Mic Lock-On feature keeps the most recently used mic active so that ambient room signal remains when mics are not in use. Which makes for a natural uninterrupted signal flow. Additionally this unit has 7 position-programmable switches to provide further modifications to internal features; the limiter threshold, off-attenuation level, and hold time can be adjusted, and the mixer can be switched between manual and automatic modes.
